General Strategy

Verdetech Investments is a holding company for a diverse range of new technologies- its aim:
•To minimise risk through diversity;
•To generate strong positive returns for its shareholders; and
•To assist companies at the early stage of their development.

Verdetech Investments recognises that a great idea is only the start of the long process needed to build a successful company.
Many new technologies never fulfil their potential, either because of a lack of cash or because of a flawed roll-out programme.
For example:
•New energy efficient products may be able to demonstrate a substantial cost saving over time, however, high- upfront capital costs may limit the ability to generate the all important initial sales- can this be addressed by offering the right customer financing package?
•The focus on new technologies to improve cost in the renewable energy sector have never been greater- but to be competitive, expert project finance advice is required to make the deal happen.

Verdetech Investments aims to concentrate on such companies. With expert ‘in-house’ knowledge across all sectors of transportation, renewable energy and infrastructure finance, we can assist management in a way that, perhaps, traditional VC firms cannot.

Traditional VC companies play a crucial role in providing the necessary cash resources, however, their aims/ objectives may not be aligned with those of management and they may prefer an easy exit strategy rather than see the development through to its full potential.

Initial Investments

To date, Verdetech Investments have committed to acquire substantial stakes in two companies- the first involved in monitoring air pollution (GUSTO) and the second aimed at focusing on low carbon aviation, ahead of the planned incorporation of airline sin the European emissions trading programme.

GUSTO will be acquired and developed in conjunction with Imperial Innovations the leading funding provider for new technologies and ideas originating from Imperial College in London.

In addition, Verdetech Investments is exploring several other possible acquisitions in the renewable energy/ energy saving sector.

Focus

• The product must be able to demonstrate a clear market edge over its competition;

• The product must be competitive in terms of cost per kwh or cost savings over existing alternatives;

• The product should be well developed, at least on a conceptual/ test level, with a clear route to market.
